I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #285 Keeping A Journal
I was always raised to keep a journal. From a young age my mom encouraged me to write daily. I was very diligent from age 12 to 18 or 19. Slowly I got busier and would skip a day here and there, and eventually to very little writing. I've always made it a point to write on very special days like when I got married and when I've given birth to my children. Even when I have had neat experiences. But I've never been consistent. A few days ago, I felt like I should write in my journal. It felt so good to write my feelings down, but it was rather embarrassing to admit that I hadn't written in my journal for about 18 months! Wow. That's crazy! But I smile for a few reasons. One is because of this great blog I have decided to do this year, I feel as though it's been a journal for me. I also smile because no matter how long it had been since I had written, I can just write my feelings down!
I do love that my mom has always been so diligent in keeping a journal. She has a great recollection of memories because of it. Also because she can go back to her hundreds of journals and find our specific details, like the fact that through her journal we were able to figure out that the midwife that delivered her 7th child, was the same midwife that I used during my 3rd pregnancy! Pretty funny! Smile on!
