Ooooh, and I also took the seed's from the pumpkin and baked them! So yummy!
I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #282 Fresh Pumpkin.....Baking
Today, I accompanied my 5 year old on his very first field trip! Boy was he excited to ride a bus, and take an adventure! We went to the Black Island Pumpkin Farms, and it is such a fun place to take your kids, if you are in the Utah Davis County area. At the end we took a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch, and all of the kids got to pick their own pumpkin. The farmers mentioned that they were "sweet pumpkins" great for baking! So my 5 yr. old and I decided that it would be fun to try! So we went home and cleaned out the pumpkin, and baked it. After it baked for an hour, and cooled down, I scraped it out, and turned it into the pumpkin puree! Today we made pumpkin bread with yummy chocolate chips, and tomorrow, we'll make a homemade pumpkin pie with the left over puree! So fun, and so yummy! It's something I have never done before, so it made me smile to know that I tired something new, and succeeded!
