I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #77 St. Patrick's Day

This is a day full of GREEN, green eggs and ham, green milk, green pancakes, greed bread.....it has endless possiblilties when you add just a little bit of food coloring!  It's so fun!  This is my smile today!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Here are some fun facts about this fun day!

  • The actual color of St. Patrick is blue. Green became associated with St. Patrick's Day during the 19th century. Green, in Irish legends, was worn by fairies and immortals, and also by people to encourage their crops to grow.
  • In Chicago, on St. Patrick's Day, the rivers are dyed green. Mayor Daley is also of Irish descent. (really, they do! check it out!)
  • Many young people dye their hair green for the special day and wear green to avoid being pinched.
  • Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.
  • According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the highest number of leaves found on a clover is 14.

  1. We made a new rule. We don't like pinching, so ours is if you wear green you get a hug! No pinching involved here!
