I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #61 Our Name

Does your name make you smile?  Well, it should!  There are many reason why! The reason why my name makes me smile so much is because of the history of my name.  I was named after my aunt Janine, my mother, my dads, and my husband! (look below for the reasons!)
I just read an awesome Scripture from the Book Of Mormon, and I smiled because I realized that any name is important but here is what it said:

Helaman 5:6
....Behold, I have given unto you the names of our first parents who came out of the land of Jerusalem; and this I have done that when you remember your names ye may remember them; and when ye remember them ye may remember their works; and when ye remember their works ye may know how that it is said, and also written, that they were

I took that to heart, because my name has a lot of history, so when I think of my name, I think of my amazing Aunt Janine (love that women) she is such a great strength to me!  She has been through a lot of trials through her life, and she still smiles about who she is! I think of my mother (love her too!), she raised me, taught me, loved me and still does everyday!  For my maiden name I think of my dad, but I especially think of my Grandpa Packer whom I've never met because he passed at an early age.  But I have heard so many wonderful stories about him, that make me know that he was truly an amazing man.  Then I have my married name,  which i'm grateful to have.  My children will get to carry that name on for further generations, and they will  (hopefully :), if i do it right!) know that their ancestors were good!

So my challenge to you all would be find something about your name that makes you smile!  It can be the meaning of why you were given the name that you have, or a story about the legacy your name carries.....or whatever you else you can think of!  Share it with me on this blog or FB, and then smile!
