I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #252 The Layton Utah Music Workshop

Today I was able to attend something I've been attending now for over 10 years.  Years ago, my mom had a wonderful vision, that has now turned out to be more than she could have ever asked for.  She put together for the city of Layton, a workshop, where people could attend, and learn so much about music.  But the main focus was how to bring music into our home and worship services and how to make it appropriate music for our church meetings.  It's been years full of wonderful memories, knowledge gained by myself and so many others, and good friendships made as well.  This year's was a bit different, in the fact that they changed it to a mini format of how it's been in the past.  You can go to http://www.laytonutahmusicworkshop.com/ for all of the information that was given today, as well as the previous workshops.

I smile because I truly felt the spirit today of why we really have music in our church meetings.  Whatever Faith or Religion you belong to, music is a vital part of that meeting.  But I also smile because I gained an even stronger testimony that we need to be very selective as to what kind of music we bring into our church meetings.  I learned that they need to bring the spirit, and be sung or played in a form of a prayer.  It also needs to create a manner of reverence.  Brother W. Herbert Klopfer who's classes I attended today, spoke on all of these topics that I've mentioned today.  He's a pretty inspiring man, and you can learn more about him on the website I posted above.

I learned a lot, and I thank my mom for the years of work she has put into these workshops.
