I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE#130 Quilting Machine's

OH, I FEEL SO HORRIBLE, (but i'm still smiling!)  It's the first time I forgot to send in my smile for the day!  So this is for yesterday 5/9/12!!!!  The reason I never got on the computer is because I was busy all day quilting a few quilts for the poor family that lost their sweet 4 yr. old boy, when he drowned in the river, a week and a half ago.  Sometime last week, I had a feeling come to me, saying that the service I could give to them using my talents would be making them a quilt, as something for them to hold on to!  So I followed that feeling, and got the wonderful fabric donated, from a friend, cut the fabric, and in one day put both quilts together!  That in it's self is a miracle, and I know that the Lord had His hand in everything, because I have never sewed so much, so fast!.....might I add, with NO mistakes or problems!

Quilting it though was slightly different.  Satan, knew I was getting closer to finishing, and had his hand, in throwing me A LOT of curve balls!  I was able to get past them, and finished both quilts.  I owe a huge thanks to all who helped me in completing this big task!  I still have to do the edges, so I don't have a picture of the full quilts, but these photo's will give you a good idea!

This is the quilt for the family to have.  I hope it helps them remember the plan that God has for all of us.

Close up, of the center picture!

I made this one for the 6 yr. old brother!  I hope he likes it.

Besides the frustrating moments on the quilting machine (once again, the same friend who donated the fabric, let me use her machine) it was really fun to get to use one of those machine's again!  I had the chance to use one a lot when I was in High School, but that was 10 years ago, so it was fun try it out again!  It brought back some good memories, and it made me smile!  It also made me smile to get these quilts finished, so I can give them to the family, as they prepare for the memorial service, since they still have not found the sweet boy's body.

I hope we can all remember to smile everyday, because someone is watching, and needs to see your smile!  Share what you have!
