I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #316 Homemade Bread

Today, I made homemade bread for the second time in my life....and it was a success!  So, So, yummy, and oh so easy!  It makes me smile!  I remember as a kid, my mom making bread all the time, and just loving that fresh hot loaf of bread out of the oven, with butter and honey!  So that's what I did today! Yum, Yum!

You can smile too!

Here is the recipe!  (Thanks for the recipe goes to my friend Irene)

2 Tablespoons Yeast
1/2 Cup Warm Water
1 Tablespoon Sugar
Put these 3 ingredients together, stir well, wait until it has risen a bit and looks foamy.

Then add:

4 Cups Warm Water
1 Tablespoon Salt
1/2 Cup Oil
12-14 Cups Flour, or enough to make it "just right"

Mix well, dump out onto a floured surface and knead well.  Pull off enough dough for the size of loaf you want, and using your fingers make a rectangle.  Push all the air bubbles out, then roll up, tuck ends under and slap the top of the loaf to pop remaining bubbles and give it a nice smooth top.  Let rise.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. Enjoy!!!

(This recipe will make about 4 loafs. Depending on the size of your pan!)
