I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #211 For the Strength of Youth Pamphlet

I don't know how many of you have read through the new "For the Strength of Youth" Pamphlet, but it is awesome.  I had just finished reading through the old one, when they came out with the new one.  I have not read all of them yet, but I read one of the standards today, and it just made me smile, and reminded me of how important my journey to get 365 smiles really is to me, and hopefully others!  Here's what I read today:

Gratitude

He who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious.
Doctrine and Covenants 78:19

The Lord wants you to have a spirit of gratitude in all you do and say. Live with a spirit of thanksgiving and you will have greater happiness and satisfaction in life. Gratitude will turn your heart to the Lord and help you recognize His influence and blessings in your life. Even in your most difficult times, you can find much to be grateful for. Doing so will strengthen and bless you.
In your prayers, pour out your heart to your Father in Heaven in thanks for the blessings you have received. Be specific in thanking Him for His goodness, for your family, for friends, for leaders and teachers, for the gospel, and for His Son, Jesus Christ.
You also express gratitude to the Lord by the way you live. When you keep His commandments and serve others, you show that you love Him and are grateful to Him. Express your gratitude to others for the many ways they bless your life.
How can I express sincere gratitude for my blessings?
I loved reading that portion that I highlighted!  I truly have found my life to be strengthened, as I try to be more positive and happy about what is going on in my life, whether good or bad, happy or sad!
I hope everyone can take a chance to read every standard in this little pamphlet!  It is good for any age, and we can learn to be better people, and members of the church!
