I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #190 Grandparents

This last week, I had the chance to be able to see both set of grandparents in my family!  It's not an everyday thing when that happens, in fact I don't know if it has ever happend.  My wonderful Grandma Packer lives in Farmington, NM,  and my Grandma and Grandpa Wood live in Burley, ID, but for the past 10+ years, they have been back and forth serving 4 different LDS Missions!  But this week was special.  My grandma packer was in town for the 4th of July, and we had a wonderful BBQ dinner and evening with her......I hope you have all read my post from a few days ago about our conversation... very funny!  She is so full of life, and even though she is almost 90, she still does everything on her own!  Even right down to cutting her own lawn!  She is the best, and I have so many fond memories going to visit her each year growing up!  She will always have a special place in my heart!

My Grandma and Grandpa Wood just returned late friday evening from their 6th LDS mission.  They have been serving the past 2 years in Gahna, Africa working in the Temple.  They are amazing grandparents, who have truly dedicated their lives to the Lord completley, and I look up to them, with the example they have set their whole life!  They have a wonderful family, with many grandchildren, but many more great grand children.  I know they are happy to be home, and we are happy to have them back!

It makes me smile to know that I have been so blessed to have good examples in my life such as my Grandparents.  I do have throw a little plug in for my Grandpa Packer, whom I've never met because he passed away at age 50, and I know that I've posted about him as well.  But knowing and hearing so many wonderful stories about him, makes me feel like I know him, and I know that someday, I will get a chance to meet him in heaven!

I hope you can smile about your Grandparents, whether they are still on this earth or not.  Smile about the legacy they left behind, because YOU are part of that legacy!
