I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #68 Incentives

Incentives for my children make me smile!  I guess it works for me too!  I am willing to work extra hard, when I know that there is something exciting to follow!

My oldest, was struggling with wanting to do his 30 min. of reading everyday as well.  While we were at the book fair he saw a star wars sticker book that he wanted.  So right then and there I decided I would buy it, but he would have to earn it!  We set up a chart, and when he read 20 books, he would be able to receive that book!  Yesterday he completed his 20th book!  He was so excited, and has not stopped spending his spare time, working on this sticker book!  Super cute!

My kids have struggled doing their homework happily as well, 75% of it was complaining with no work getting done!  So I knew I needed to so something to change their attitudes!  I noticed that Toy Story 3: Disney on Ice would be coming, so I set up another system where they had to do their homwork 10 days in a row...HAPPILY....and they would earn the opportunity to go with me!  Yesterday, they also finished, their 10 days, and so tonight we get to go on a mommy/son date, and hope to have a lot of fun!

I'm not saying that I bribe my kids all the time, these 2 just happened to come at the same time.  But It was so fun to see my kids work extra hard, so that they could earn their reward!

Did You SMILE Today?
