I am grateful for a new year, with a fresh start! The year 2011 brought a lot of experiences in my life that has made me change the way I look at life, and I have truly grown from my challenges and spiritual experiences that I have had. I'm grateful for all of my trials and happy moments! I want to be able to think of ways to be happy EVERY SINGLE DAY! Life is too short to spend it being sad or down. I'm no blogger, so I hope that my desire to do this everyday will continue. I know that if we stay positive, and look up in life, anything negative will become a positive experience! With that said..........Let's Smile!

SMILE #121 Service

Among a very sad few days, I am smiling today, because I was able to give my time and service to a family who so desperately  needs it right now!  For those who are not aware of the the tragedy that is going on in my home town of Layton, UT Here is the link to the news feed.  It's such an awful tragedy, that I don't even truly have words to explain.

I was able to go up with my mother in-law who is neighbors to this little boys grandparents.  They have been life long friends.  We brought them lunch, and spent a few moments just talking with them, and listening.  I was so grateful for the chance I had to go up to that solemn part of the river, where the water is flowing and quiet.  It was such a strange feeling.  Being a mother, I don't know, honestly how I would be dealing with something so hard.  I am grateful to have the Lord on our side, to help us get through these trials.

This is a sad story, and I know this is an interesting reason to smile, but everyone in this world has something in their lives, where we can give our time and service.  Even if it's a small thing, it will make a difference in their life.  I ask you to find someone in your life, and pray for a way that you can serve them to make their burdens lighter!  I also ask you to pray for this sweet family, who is going through so much right now.  Pray for those in the search and rescue units, that they will have the strength to continue until he is found.

I smile because of giving service.  Why do you smile?
